“‘On that day,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the LORD Almighty.” – Haggai 2:23
When one is to be married there is an act of love. After a relationship has been founded, a proposal is given, an acceptance is needed, and a commitment is put into place. In our culture this is signified by a ring. It is a covenant of an everlasting commitment. Wikipedia states that a signet ring is a ring with a seal set into it, typically by leaving an impression in sealing wax.
God created us, as an act of Love. Jesus died for our sins, a proposal of love was given, we then can choose to accept Him as our savior, and Commit to loving Him, as He first loved us. We are the, “chosen,” ones of God. We are created for Him to love, and vice versa.
“And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.” – Malachi 3:17
He’s referring to us! I long to be like that of the jewel in my God’s signet ring, inseparable to Him, set with such an impression that can never be unsealed. For apart from Him there is no real joy, and in Him there is fullness of joy.
“And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” – Luke 21:11
When the day comes that heaven and earth will be shaken; we will be unmoved, as we will be like that of the mounted, like a Jewel on the ring upon the finger of God. One with the creator, yet with a signature engraved. That signature means we are marked and approved in the sight of the creator (God) and the purchaser (Jesus). That signature will say, “Jesus.” By no other name can we be saved. That signature, sealed in blood, is the covenant that binds us together, like the bride and groom. We were bought with a price, a price that could never be paid by another. That’s how special we are to Him. that is a true act of love. what a love story.
