Miracle Oil
“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.” – 2 Kings 4:1 We all love a good miracle story. Especially when tragedy strikes we like to see the light at the end of the tunnel. There are many miraculous stories in the Bible; however, this one was really an eye opener for me. I believe God brought me to it for a reason to teach me something specifically; however, I’m…

Judas
This is a poem I wrote some time ago for a play, it depicts Judas in his last moments. You can read more about it in Matthew 27. In this moment of dark desperation His image still clouds my mind Of the man I once followed Whispering, thy will not mine No silver can ever replace The look of death upon his face Betrayal of an innocent man Should have been me on the stand I drank the wine, I ate the bread Is it prophecy as he pled? How could I ever deny Better to have never been born he said! Crucify! Crucify! They declared I should have…

Be Still
“Be still, and know that I am God” – Psalm 46:10 I often work with people that are afflicted with Alzheimer’s or a form of dementia; one which strips away most of what makes you, you. Your thoughts, your dreams, and your personality are all affected in some way. Activities of daily living become increasingly difficult, so everything you do relies on someone else’s watch; someone else’s ability. Alzheimer’s is such a tragedy, but we can learn something from it. It really causes you to think of what you value most in life, when you realize what little control you have over it. The things that we hold tight to can slip away at…

Prayer – Pure Power
To the power of prayer! We as Christians know the benefit of praying in the spirit, but scientists also point the benefit on our brains when we pray! There is something mysterious about the power of prayer! But, let’s not forget that when we pray, we are to pray in spirit and truth. And never forget WHO you are praying to. I read an article about the power of prayer on the brain and thought it so neat. There are always going to be skeptics out there, but this is proof that prayer is powerful! Name Your Giant
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” – Mark 11:23 We all face things in life, problems that can be so hard to face that they often feel like mountains or giants. They can come in many different forms such as doubt and unbelief, financial issues, health issues, relationship issues, and sometimes a big one is lack of self confidence. In the book of Samuel, David faced Goliath even though the odds didn’t look so great, given the size of…

Learn To Fly
“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ – Luke 15:21 I was lying in bed one morning, and I could faintly hear a song playing in the next apartment. It was quite interesting as I’d heard it before but had failed to remember what it was, so I googled the lyrics. It was a song called, “Learn to Fly,” by the Foo Fighters. Some of the lyrics I heard were: “Make my way back home when I learn to fly high.” “I’m looking to the sky to save me. Looking for a sign of life”…
