The morning star

The morning star

And so, we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19

I awoke early one morning and noticed ONE single star in the sky next to the moon, brighter than I had ever seen. There was no other star in the sky to be seen. Jesus said, “I am the bright morning star.”

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:16

The morning star is not actually a star, it is the planet Venus which has been called the “morning star” since ancient times. The morning star appears in the east before sunrise; and as the darkness fades, it heralds a new day. Jesus is coming back soon, and a new day is coming. It is written that He will appear in the east, just like the morning star.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:27

We have been given prophecy that has been confirmed throughout the ages; signs and wonders.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1

We must hold onto the wisdom we have been given, until He returns. To the church that overcomes, we will rise and shine with Jesus and rule the nations. (Revelation 2:25-29, Daniel 12:3)

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Daniel 12:3

Jesus is saying, if you stay faithful, all I have is yours. Venus reflects 70 percent of the sun’s rays. Jesus has given us a glimpse, but soon we will see Him in the fullness of His glory. (1 Corinthians 13:9-12) No one can imagine what God has prepared for His beloved people. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

While we wait for His return, we are to be luminaries for Jesus – the Father of light (James 1:17). If we are His children, we are to also walk in His light, because He is light. He is the light of the world. (John 8:12) The word of God living in our hearts exposes the darkness and illuminates truth (Ephesians 5:13; Psalm 119:105) helping us to overcome. No matter what we face, He outshines the darkness (John 1:5)

And I will give him the morning star. Revelation 2:28
