    This little light of mine

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 I didn’t grow up in a christian home. I celebrated Halloween like all the other kids, and thought nothing of it. All I knew is that I got to dress up and collect a bunch of candy! Seems innocent enough. I remember going by certain houses and they had their lights completely turned off. No decoration or sign of life; nothing. Everyone said they were Christians and they don’t believe in celebrating Halloween. We simply didn’t go to those houses because we didn’t feel invited,…

Winds of Change – True North Strong and Free!

Sometimes in the wind of change we find our true direction. – Unknown Strong winds occur during seasonal changes. When two different air masses collide, we get stormy conditions. Change can bring about a mixture of emotions. Most of us do not like change, but there are some that embrace each season as it comes. Change is necessary if we are to move forward in the direction God is calling us. The wind can seem harsh at times, but it has a purpose. We can let the wind take us every which way (Ephesians 4:14) or we can hold fast to what we know and stand firm in Jesus. In…

    Cause and Effect

The dictionary explains cause and effect this way: Cause and effect is a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or others. This is a combination of action and reaction. Every make a volcano for a science experiment and watch as the baking soda and vinegar explode, or stick something metal in the microwave by mistake? Well, I have and certainly never did it again. I am always so curious about finding out how and why things are the way they are, and how everything works. The moon is pretty cool, it gives us light and is responsible for causing the tides to become high. I…

    Sit still and be quiet!

And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. Luke 1:20 Sometimes in life our words get us into trouble. The bible says that death and life are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) Sometimes we can’t hear from God because we simply can’t stop talking. Our minds are always distracted by the chaos around us, even our inner talk. The story of Zachariah and Elisabeth is an interesting one. They both wanted a child; however, Elisabeth was barren. They were old and it seemed impossible. Little…

    Point of reference

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. Ephesians 2:19-20 According to Merriam Webster “Point of Reference” is a fixed point, or a place or thing, that is used to judge or understand something. Wikipedia describes a cornerstone (foundation stone or setting stone) as the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation. It is important since all other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure. The body of Christ, the church, is built upon…

    More than Conquerors

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us,who can be against us? Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:31  All of us have a calling and purpose in this life given by God. It can take us time to figure out just what it is that God wants us to do, but there is one thing I can tell you for sure: When you decide to move forward and do something for God, you are bound to face adversity; I can 100 % guarantee…

    The Royal Wedding

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” Ephesians 5:25 With the Royal Wedding over with I am consistently going back and searching up YouTube for bits and pieces of what I may have missed. It was a long wedding! But a beautiful one, and one many were anxiously awaiting. I was so excited watching, as It reminds me of a fairy-tale, and for Meghan and Harry, I’m sure it was. I was obsessed with Meghan’s facial expressions and just trying to guess what she might be feeling at the moment. The smiles on their faces were absolutely contagious. The idea that a…

    Seed of Life

“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” Hebrews 12:15 (NLT) I was working in the garden today. I was digging up these roots that seemed never ending. There is a plant coming up in multiple spots almost like tall blades of grass and the roots grow so deep that it’s hard to uproot them. I have to be sure to get all the way down so that it doesn’t come back up rearing it’s ugly head. I’ve been dealing with them for a couple of years…
