Hello Me. Nice To Meet You.

And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 2 Samuel 12:13 David sinned against God in a pretty major way, yet God still loved him, and had a huge purpose for his life, and loved him regardless. Just because David sinned did not mean he didn’t have a good heart. He was referred to as a man after God’s own heart. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast…

    Life and Death

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21 God says that the power of life and death is largely influenced by the words we speak. It has the power to change situations, to evoke faith, to put someone down or build someone up. When the Israelite’s were wandering through the desert for 40 years being tested, instead of entering the promised land, it was because of their constant muttering and complaining that stopped the blessing of God in it’s tracks. God provided all that they needed and more, yet the more they received the more they complained, instead…

    State your case

Isaac entreated the Lord on behalf of his wife, since she was sterile. The Lord heard his entreaty, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. Genesis 25:21 When you visit the doctors office, usually the doctor will say. How can I help you? When you stand in front of a judge, and are asked to give an account for something, you have to speak up and defend your case. If you say nothing, that’s exactly what will happen – nothing. God knows what we want or need before we ever speak a single syllable. (Matthew 6:8) So why do we need to ask? When we ask, it puts us in a place of faith. This is…

    In remembrance of Billy Graham

I remember being a kid, and having Billy Graham on the television in his earlier days. My family was not a Christian family, at least not a devoted one. But something about Billy Graham attracted even the non-believer. His message was very distinct – The Gospel of Jesus Christ & His love and redeeming power. Billy Graham counselled many leaders of our day, and even bailed Martin Luther King Jr out of jail! He was a man of faith, a man of God, and just overall a widely respected man. Both Billy Graham and Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, and they didn’t give up on their dreams. Both…

    How to Overcome Depression

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 For many years in my life I had struggled with depression. I was always able to manage it by blocking out feelings, or keeping myself busy, or engaging in all of the wrong things to try and cope. I realized very quickly over the years that avoiding or masking  feelings because they are too hard, is a very unhealthy thing. When I came to God in 2007 I was still…

    Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

It is said that you can tell a lot about a person by the type of shoes they wear. I guess the same could be said about clothing, but according to research there is something scientific about the choice of shoe we wear. Which makes sense; shoes, from their humble practical beginnings, are now made for more than comfort in travel, but to create a fashion statement. But, is our life more than the clothing we wear? (Matthew 6:25-34) The bible says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. I watched the move “Wonder.” It was about a boy that had a deformed face and went through many struggles personally and socially,…

Keep your eye on the prize

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21 I watched a movie the other day called Extraordinary. A movie about a professor and a marathon runner, who was always looking to accomplish that next big race. It is a true story about a “Marriage Journey.” Due to so many years of running, it took a toll on his health, and was quickly starting to take a toll on his marriage. After having heart complications and knee damage, the obvious thing would be to quit running, and focus on the simple yet valuable things in his life, like his marriage. His wife was quite upset to…
