    “Be still, and know that I am God” – Psalm 46:10  I often work with people that are afflicted with Alzheimer’s or a form of dementia; one which strips away most of what makes you, you.  Your thoughts, your dreams, and your personality are all affected in some way.  Activities of daily living become increasingly difficult, so everything you do relies on someone else’s watch; someone else’s ability. Alzheimer’s is such a tragedy, but we can learn something from it.  It really causes you to think of what you value most in life, when you realize what little control you have over it.     Where should I go?

    “Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.  We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” – John 6:68-69 I work sometimes in an Alzheimer’s unit at a nursing home.  There is a little dutch woman whom I adore.  But she continuously says, “Where should I go?”  Her short term is of course extremely short, so I know that in a couple more minutes I will get the same question and I have to come up with an answer.  I usually lead her to her room, so that she can rest comfortably in…
